Advanced work: Working with Complex Frozen shoulder and Shoulder Issues
This workshop is an advanced-level Deep Bodywork® training focused on working with complex cases of frozen shoulder and functional disorders of the shoulder joint and surrounding structures.
This is a highly practical, clinically oriented class designed around clients who are experiencing actual shoulder problems. Using the Deep Bodywork techniques you have already learned, we will explore, through live sessions, how to assess complex shoulder conditions and how to determine the appropriate sequence, depth, and intention of the work.
Shoulder pain, restricted mobility, and dysfunction in the shoulder joint and surrounding tissues are among the most common issues bodyworkers encounter in clinical practice. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to observe Perry closely as he assesses the client’s condition and determines how to combine deep-tissue work with the flowing, integrative qualities of Deep Bodywork.
Rather than focusing solely on individual techniques, we will also explore the clinical reasoning behind the work: Why choose this particular approach? When is the right moment to go deeper? How much depth is appropriate? What is the body communicating, and how does the practitioner respond?
By developing a deeper understanding of cases involving restricted range of motion, chronic muscular and fascial tension, and pain, you will gain practical insights that can be immediately applied to your own sessions.
For bodyworkers who are looking to further develop their clinical skills and deepen their capacity to work with complex shoulder conditions, this workshop offers a rich opportunity to observe, explore, and learn.
We warmly look forward to welcoming you to this advanced training.
Deep Bodywork® as a Healing Art
In Deep Bodywork® classes, we explore the work as a “healing art”—not as a fixed technique or treatment protocol, but as an approach that can be integrated into and explored alongside the practitioner’s existing bodywork practice as a safe and effective way of working with the body.
As you develop the ability to work more deeply into the body, you will also refine your technical skills and cultivate a more subtle and sensitive perception of the tissues, movement, and responses of the body.
We also spend considerable time engaging in experiential, body-based practices designed to deepen the practitioner’s awareness and presence. By cultivating greater sensitivity and awareness within yourself, your own state of being when working with another person, the quality of your touch, and the way you perceive the body and inner experience of another person can all begin to shift.
Perry and I look forward to sharing this exploration with many of you and to learning together.
